Biological purification of civil wastewater. Serving a municipal sewerage system.

Technology used

A complete revamping of an old system consisting of underground CAV tanks was carried out. Taking advantage of the existing tanks, which were suitably equipped with internal septa, isotactic PP filling bodies and electromechanical components such as pumps and blowers, a treatment chain was created that includes the following stages:

• Oil removal/sand removal
• Anaerobic percolator
• Aerobic percolator
• Sedimentation

Tertiary filtration with multi-layer quartzite and granular activated charcoal has also been added.
