Chemical-physical plant for the treatment ofwaste water contaminated by boron and heavy metals. Installed at a pharmaceutical plant.

The plant consists of a monobloc structure made of steel that includes the reaction tanks and a lifting tank to the settler.

The effluent is acidified in the first tank, while in the second and third there is contact with flocculant and polyelectrolyte. In the fourth, milk of lime and barium salt levels are measured for the precipitation of boron. All tanks are equipped with vertical mixers. After the chemical treatment, the water arrives at a conical settler in VTR where the sludge is precipitated while the clarified water is sent to the drain after neutralisation of the pH. The plant operates in fully automated fashion.
