Treatment plant designed for the remediation of groundwater contaminated by iron, manganese and hydrocarbons.
Technology used
The plant consists of a filtration section and a chemical-physical treatment section.
The watter emitted from the piezometers is stored in storage tanks where an oxidising product is metered and then it is sent to a battery of filters consisting of a deferrisation filter for the’elimination of iron and manganese and two charcoal filters to eliminate hydrocarbons and other organic substances.
The backwash from the deferrising filters is then treated with a chemical-physical process in order to precipitate metals and all sedimentable solids. The clarified water is sent to the drain.
