Treatment plant designed for the remediation of groundwater contaminated by iron, manganese and hydrocarbons.
Technology used
The plant consists of a filtration section and a chemical-physical treatment section.
The water emitted from the piezometers is stored in storage tanks where the level of an oxidising product is metered before being sent to a battery of two deferrisation filters for the elimination of iron and manganese and two charcoal filters for the removal of hydrocarbons and other organic substances.
The backwash from the deferrisation filters is then treated with a chemical-physical process in order to precipitate metals and all sedimentable solids. The clarified water is sent to the drain.
